2026 Blogging A to Z Challenge: Alphabet

It’s day one of the 2026 Blogging A to Z Challenge! If you missed the theme reveal post, make sure you go back and check it out. This year I’m focusing on 26 posts that highlight recently published board books geared toward babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Each post will include nine book suggestions – each one from a different author which means at the end of the month, you’ll have 234 brand new suggestions for board books.

I love classic titles, but I knew that I wanted to share some of the more recently published titles from authors that you might be familiar with and by authors who might be new to you. These all would make great additions to your little one’s library or as gifts for baby showers or birthdays!

So, let’s get started. Today’s letter is “A” and I’m sharing board books about the alphabet. There are dozens and dozens of alphabet books out there and some can be quite lengthy. So remember, you don’t need to read the book cover-to-cover, maybe pulling out special letters like the first letter of your baby’s name or your last name. Or “M” for mommy and “D” for daddy or “G” for grandpa. (Obviously, pick the letters that work best for your family!)

Learning the alphabet is an important early literacy skill for kids, so as you see the letters throw in words like upper case, lower case, maybe trace the letter with your finger… all simple tasks that you can do to enhance your baby/toddler/preschooler’s experience!

2026 Blogging from A to Z Challenge

2026 is my eleventh year participating in the Blogging A to Z Challenge! This year, my theme is Board Books for Babies with a focus on providing book suggestions that parents and caregivers can share with, of course, babies, but also toddlers and preschoolers! Each letter of the alphabet will focus on a different subject and will provide nine titles for each subject. While there are dozens of classic board books out there, this list includes titles published in the past 5-6 years, so you’ll get to learn about new titles, authors, and publishers! Stop by daily to check out the new books and other posts that I’ll be sharing in April.
