Storytime Theme: Vegetables
Still working on updating a lot of my previous storytime lesson plans, so today we’re updating Vegetables! It’s been ten year since the last time I shared a vegetable-themed storytime, so let’s dig in! Today, I’ve got ten recently published picture books that make great read alouds for a storytime either for toddlers or preschoolers. Beyond the picture book suggestions, I’ve also include a couple of songs and rhymes and a few crafts too!
What I love about planning storytime is the freedom to choose a theme that works best for you! So maybe you start with a wider theme like vegetables and realize that the books you like are garden-specific, or maybe it’s a specific vegetable, like carrots. So, what’s great is that you can create a series of lesson plans that expand beyond just the veggie theme, to a variety of other topics that all kind of work together!
