Storytime Theme: Ocean Animals
I’m traveling through biomes having already shared lesson plans for desert animals and jungle animals. Today, we’re focused on animals found in the ocean. There are thousands of ocean animals, so I apologize when I say that my nine book list is just not going to comer the breadth of both animals and picture books available out there! Use these books as a jumping off point or find ht books that work best for you and your group.
I love ocean animals – everything from the tiniest bioluminescent plankton to the massive, almost hard-to-believe size of blue whales. And as I’ve mentioned previously, animal books are easy to find on a wide variety of animals, so you’ll have no trouble finding the right books for your storytime. Pair some great ocean-themed books (fiction and nonfiction) with a couple of songs and maybe a craft and you’ve got an easy program that’s ready to be utilized!
