Geronimo Stilton: Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye book cover

Summer is the best time for kids to try some new books! No school, lots of extra daylight, and plenty of summer reading challenges to check out. If you’re looking for great titles to share with your chapter book Geronimo Stilton-loving readers, check out this reading list!

Geronimo Stilton is a newspaper editor mouse who doesn’t necessarily love going on adventures, but he does love writing about them! What makes the Geronimo Stilton books fun is the fact that there are colorful illustrations as well as fun changes in fonts and colors making the books not only full of adventure, but also fun to read.

If you’re already a fan of the many Geronimo Stilton books, and you’re looking for a new series to check out, why not take a look at the many chapter book series below. I love chapter books and I think they get overlooked a lot. It’s an age format that are perfect for kids who have graduated from the easy readers, but aren’t quite ready to jump into middle grade novels. Chapter books usually hover around 100 pages, with illustrations to support the text and a little larger font size with plenty of white space for kids.

So, the next time you’re at the library ask a staff member for some recommendations for chapter books (specifically for kids ages 7-10). While some library workers will know the difference between chapter books and middle grade novels, depending on who you get to help you, they might not be as familiar. If you’re lucky enough to have a library, like mine, where chapter books are separated from middle grade novels, that makes it a lot easier! Otherwise, ask the library staff to help you find Geronimo Stilton or one of the other books on this list to get started. (Sometimes the library catalog will also give you read alike suggestions when you search for a title, so definitely take a look at your library catalog too!) Have fun checking out new chapter books for your summer readers!
