Storytime Theme: Tails
Animal-themed lesson plans are some of the easiest options available for storytime because there are picture books about almost every animal you can think of. But, if you’re looking for a way to switch it up a bit, why not try a feature that is shared among animals like big ears or scales, or in this case tails!
This is a fun storytime to pull together because it’s easy to incorporate nonfiction books within your lesson plan and it doesn’t feel forced in anyway! Especially because you can often find nonfiction titles that have photographs of real animal tails instead of illustrations which help kids understand the concept of what is being talked about in storytime to real life! Grab a few books, dance to a few songs and maybe plan a round or two of pin the tail on (insert your preferred animal here)! I think the kids would love it!
