2021 Project LIT Titles

project lit logo

Project LIT is spending the next few weeks announcing the 2021 titles for both middle school and young adult readers. This grassroots organization began in 2016 by Dr. Amato of Nashville to empower readers and has spread to over 1,700+ schools and communities around the world.

The goal is to encourage readers in middle school and high school by creating a list of relatable titles. Each year, the list includes current titles that don’t shy away from difficult topics. During a time when more and more communities are experiencing individuals and groups who are trying to ban books from school districts and public libraries, organizations like this are needed and necessary.

If you’re ready for your next read, check out Project LIT’s social media to see what titles will share the list with:

Young Adult

  • Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
  • Almost American Girl by Robin Ha

Middle Grade

  • Amari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston
  • Fast Pitch by Nic Stone
