6 Picture Books All About Shopping

Sundays are familiar days for me. Yes, they come around every week, but you can also find me at the grocery store most Sunday mornings. I usually spend some time putting together a menu for the week. And then making sure I have a grocery list that has everything I need. Invariably, I’ll end up forgetting something and have to run to the store later in the week, but that’s life.

My partner and I have found that if meals are planned out and still somewhat flexible for plans that come up, we tend to eat a lot better during the week. Rather than scrounging around looking for what’s available, dinner is planned, groceries have been purchased and our schedule has been taken into account. Here’s more about my meal planning!

This week, for example, I’ve got two later meetings, so meals need to be quick and easy to make. This afternoon we have more time, so a meal that involves a little more work will be fine. And because we’re trying to reduce our carbon footprint a little at a time, we’re trying to fit in more plant-based meals as well.

That being said, it inspired me to pull together a couple of books about shopping, saving money, and of course purses, those crazy things that are carried everywhere fill with everything you could ever need!

Shopping with kids can be a struggle. But if you can find ways to get them involved, it can teach them loads of vocabulary, experience different fruits and vegetables, learn about money, coupons, and so much more. Here’s a great way one mom made shopping with her kids easier on her and more fun with them! And sometimes going to the grocery store by yourself and spending just a couple of extra minutes without kids running around is really great too!
