6 Picture Books to Celebrate National Tailgating Day

Today I’m sharing 6 Picture Books to Celebrate National Tailgating Day! National Tailgating Day is the first Saturday in September (who knew!). And regardless of my own personal opinions on professional sport, player salaries, and my major concern about the health of athletes I wanted to share some books for kids who might otherwise not see themselves as readers. Sporty kids (boys and girls alike) have been, in my experience, fairly difficult to connect with a book. Let me be clear, this is not all sporty kids and it’s not necessarily one gender or the other or anywhere in between. It’s my own personal experience with the kids in my library.

That being said, it might only be that they don’t see themselves as readers because they can’t find a title that interests them. So today, here are 6 Books to Celebrate National Tailgating Day and the football-loving kids and adults in your life!
