It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 3/4/19

Last Week

This week wasn’t too bad in terms of reading! I’ve also been really busy at work and have had to shovel our sidewalks a couple of times, plus we’re finishing up the garage – all things that take me away from reading!

But, even with all that going on, I was able to finish Books of a Feather by Kate Carlisle. I really enjoy the cozy mystery genre – easy to read, a little suspense, a little romance, and a little mystery all rolled into one! And I love that that is #10 in the series and I haven’t read any of the others and didn’t feel like I was missing too much.

I also read On the Come Up by Angie Thomas which was my February Book of the Month pick. It was really well done, especially following on the heels of Angie Thomas’s The Hate U Give. I know very little about rap culture in the U.S. and found a better appreciation and admiration for the poetry rappers create.

I also picked up The Three Rules of Everyday Magic by Amanda Rawson Hill which was a beautiful story about how change affects everyone in your life and how you manage that change is up to you. I then started Just Under the Clouds by Melissa Sarno and although I just opened it up, I’m loving it already. These two titles were on my TBR list for so long and I’m so excited to finally get to them!

Reading List for Week of 3/4/19

As for this week, I’ve got a few titles from the library that I’d love to spend some time with – Genesis Begins Again by Alicia Williams, Big Foot and Little Foot by Ellen Potter, and The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu. Plus, I’ve still got a few titles on my Netgalley account I need to read – The Library of Ever by Zeno Alexander, Pie In the Sky by Remy Lai, The Friendship Lie by Rebecca Donnelly, and The Size of the Truth by Andrew Smith. I’m definitely not going to be reading all seven of these titles, but it’s nice to have some options available!

What are your reading plans this week?

I just finished THE NIGHT DIARY by Veera Hiranandani. Her words touched my heart and also sped up my heart rate as events unfolded. Also, I am starting the MG FRONT DESK by Kelly Yang. But,when I go on vacation next week, I will probably pick up a cozy mystery or a romance novel for beach side reading šŸ™‚
