#blogbookaday: Good Rosie!

Good Rosie!Summary:

“Rosie is a good dog and a faithful companion to her owner, George. She likes taking walks with George and looking at the clouds together, but the closest she comes to another dog is when she encounters her reflection in her empty dog bowl, and sometimes that makes Rosie feel lonely. One day George takes Rosie to the dog park, but the park is full of dogs that Rosie doesn’t know, which makes her feel lonelier than ever. When big, loud Maurice and small, yippy Fifi bound over and want to play, Rosie’s not sure how to respond. Is there a trick to making friends? And if so, can they all figure it out together?” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review:

Rosie loves her owner, George, but sometimes she’s lonely for a little puppy companion. But, when George takes her to the dog park, it’s overwhelming and Rosie isn’t really sure how to make friends. With practice and a few mishaps along the way, Rosie makes two amazing friends at the dog park and still has her owner, George at home too!

Personal Reaction:

I don’t expect anything less from Kate DiCamillo than a sweet story about a dog who is so good, but wants a little friend of her own! I would love to be able to take my pup to the dog park, but she’s not the most sociable dog. But, I loved the relationship between George and Rosie. He truly cares for little Rosie and does everything he can to make her happy and I love it!

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary, a review of the content, illustrations, theme, and my personal reaction to the book! Enjoy!
