Storytime Theme: Bad Day
I always begin my storytimes going over the rules of our storytime room for any new families joining us, this also includes information to caregivers about stepping outside the storytime room if their kiddo is having a “grumpy pants” kind of day. I also let caregivers know that if things just aren’t working out today, they are welcome to try again next time.
I don’t go into storytime expecting kids to be having a bad day, but sometimes it just happens. And I want caregivers to be able to make the best decision for their kiddo and themselves. Kids aren’t the only ones who can have a bad day, so this storytime is perfect for absolutely everyone from toddlers to adults! I want kids to not only be able to see that they’re having a hard time, but to be given the tools they need to help change their mood around. Check out these stories, songs, and activities that make a perfectly bad day storytime (and maybe turning it around!),
