Storytime Theme: Square
Somehow along the way I totally missed the fact that I hadn’t done a lesson plan on squares! I’m over here trying to find books about ovals and rectangles and completely missed out on squares! But the wait is over because here it is, a square storytime lesson plan! There are some absolutely adorable square storytime books out there. Plus, I included some titles that share about all different types of shapes but also include squares as well.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, I love finding a theme that can work for a few weeks in a row. So, start with a general shapes themed storytime and then spend a week on each of the shapes individually and you can easily have 4-6 weeks of storytimes ready to go, fairly simply. These books work especially well with toddlers who are still learning basic shapes, but you could also try some harder shapes like diamonds and ovals if you wanted to stretch these storytimes to a preaschool audience!
