Storytime Theme: Ovals

You can easily find picture books about circles, squares, and triangles, but I had some major trouble with rectangles and it hasn’t gotten any easier with ovals! I will definitely let you know that a number of the books I shared aren’t easily available on Amazon, but you may find them in your local library. And, I also had to include a number of titles that are general shape books that include ovals, because there just aren’t that many ovals books in existence.

I found some really cute shape-themed flannelboard rhymes that I’ve included and some adorable crafts as well. I love being able to set a theme for a month or longer and just go through each topic – shapes would be a fun one to do with kids. Pick one shape a week and you’ve got at least 4-6 weeks of programming ready to go! (Although, apparently, I’ve never done a square-themed lesson plan! Stay tuned, I’ll remedy that situation shortly!)
