Storytime Theme: Messy

This lesson plan might not be for the faint of heart, but it sure is fun! A messy storytime is just that – messy! But, if you prep your families and your space, it’ll be well worth it. First things first, take stock of the space you have – easy clean-up floors will make it a lot easier to clean up. And choose the activities that you can easily do in your space. Then let your storytime families know that it’s going to be a messy day and that they should plan accordingly – smocks, old clothes, extra clothes, etc.

And once you’ve prepped, select a few messy books and songs, prep your messy activities and have at it! Messy doesn’t have to be scary – it just requires a little preparation and some bravery!
