2025 Blogging A to Z Challenge: Reflections

I can’t believe it’s May already and that I’ve completed my tenth year of the Blogging A to Z Challenge! My theme this year – Fact Finders Club: Nonfiction for Curious Kids was a lot of fun to put together and I felt more on top of all the posting this past month than I have in the past. With 312 nonfiction book selections in 26 different categories, I’m pretty excited about all the great books I got to highlight, even though it’s only a minuscule proportion of all the great nonfiction for kids.

Why Nonfiction?

I often think that nonfiction gets overlooked far too easily because the casual reader just doesn’t know how great it is these days. But, gone are the days of boring, text-heavy tomes, instead you’ll find bright, bold nonfiction that engages kids, encouraging them to ask more questions, and dive into great books for more information.

And I know for a fact that some reluctant readers are just reluctant to read fictional tales, but will gobble up nonfiction like it’s there next meal. And honestly, for adults – kids nonfiction is a great place to start when looking for the very basics of a topic. You don’t have to get bogged down in a hefty adult nonfiction title, if all you need are the highlights (try young reader’s editions of popular nonfiction titles, they’re great)!

So, whether you love nonfiction and are looking for some new titles for your TBR or you tend to read fiction and maybe want to try something new, check out the 26 different topics below, I’m sure you’ll find something that catches you eye!

2025 is my tenth year participating in the Blogging A to Z Challenge! This year, I chose as my theme:  Fact Finders Club: Nonfiction for Curious Kids with a focus on providing book lists focused on all types of nonfiction books for readers from birth to teens. Each letter of the alphabet will focus on different topics and will provide twelve titles on each list. Nonfiction is having a heyday in children’s literature and if you think it’s dry and boring, then I implore you to take a look at these amazing suggestions! Stop by daily to check out the new books and other posts that I’ll be sharing in April.
