Storytime Theme: Cookies

This is a delicious storytime that has me craving a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie right now! I updated an older storytime with more recently published books. There is no reason you can’t use backlist titles, in fact, some of my favorite storytime books are older titles! But, I like to highlight some newer titles that are available to families as well! With so many books being published every year, it’s hard for anyone to really be able to see the breadth of titles out there. And, since the last time I did a cookie storytime was way back in 2016, I thought it was due for an update!

That being said, use the books that work best for you and your readers! Try combining classic titles with new titles or adding a book with a popular character. Kids love being able to relate to storytime books and you’ve got to try some different options until you learn what they gravitate towards! If your library still does snacks with programming, a cookie at the end of this program would be perfection!
