Storytime Theme: Hugs
This sweet, snuggly storytime can be used any time of year, but would be great around Valentine’s Day or maybe during Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. I tried to provide a wide-variety of books on hugs featuring all sorts of hugs and even what hugs make look like depending on who you’re hugging! I did not include bodily consent titles in this collection of books, but books like Don’t Hug Doug would be a great selection to talk about personal preferences. Or to introduce the concept of bodily autonomy – for both kids and their caregivers!
Today, I’m focusing just on hugging books, with some adorable songs and rhymes as well as some really cute crafts too – a bear hug anyone? We all need to be reminded of all the love in the world once in a while and this sweet storytime is a perfect reminder!
