Storytime Theme: Underground
For those using CSLP’s Summer Reading theme – “Unearth a Story” take a look at the lesson plan below for some great fiction and nonfiction picture books all about underground animals, dirt, fund adventures, and subway rides! Along with some great themed songs and rhymes, I’ve also include a couple of craft ideas about dirt and worms. You could also do a planting activity or a sensory bin with garden soil and some plastic bugs and other animals you might find underground.
So, if you’re prepping for summer reading, add this lesson plan to your storytime schedule and if you’re not using that theme, this still make a great spring or summer storytime lesson plan!
