Super Mario Galaxy Read Alikes

Super Mario Galaxy the movie was released on April 1, 2026 and with how popular the first Super Marion Bros. movie was, I thought it would be a fun idea to create a book list that kind of coincides with the movie. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the movie yet, but between my research and my childhood, I was able to piece together enough information to create a book list. I geared these titles to a little bit of an older audience than I did for the Pout Pout fish movie, this book list includes a number of chapter books and is geared toward an audience of ages 7 – 10. Of course, that’s just a suggestion as many of these titles can be read aloud to a younger child or be enjoyed by older kids as well!

I selected titles in a few different ways – some are set in outer space, similar to Super Mario Galaxy, others have a distinct game-like feel, since the movie is based on video game characters, and finally I chose books filled with adventure that would keep readers turning the pages, something I expect the movie to be full of! So whether you are looking for a read alike to Super Mario Galaxy or just looking for some suggestions for chapter book readers, I’d suggest you take a look below!
