Storytime Theme: Going to the Park
It’s getting warmer and that means that the park is going to be very busy! I know that even as my niece and nephew get older, they still love heading to the park when they come and visit. It also helps that I have four within walking distance of my house! I thought a fun “going to the park” storytime would be perfect for the spring and as such have found some great picture book read alouds, songs, and crafts. Obviously songs and crafts explicitly about going to the park weren’t that easy to find, but I did find some song about animals you might see at the park as well as crafts that use natural materials.
This would also make a great storytime that you could take to the park and do outdoors if you get the chance. We did a number of outdoor programs during COVID and our families really enjoyed the different setting and getting a chance to be outside. If you’re worried about sound, we used this voice amplifier and it’s worked really well for us, without having to buy expensive tools like a speaker, microphone, etc. Have fun and enjoy being outdoors!
