Storytime Theme: Tools

This is an updated lesson plan about tools because the last one I did was way back in 2014 and I knew there were some newer books that would be great additions to the plan! I think teaching kids to work with their hands is a valuable skill both in terms of fine motor skills as a child and having the skills to take care of an apartment or home when they get older. Granted, I’m not sure a two year old is going to be pulling out a drill and placing screws in a piece of wood, but they may have a child-friendly toolbox toy to use or can use child-friendly tools to learn about the basics. Plus, what kid doesn’t like to emulate mom and dad, so sharing in a house project with tools is perfect!

Check out some of these books below and if you’re looking for even more, try searching for construction titles because there are dozens of construction-themed books for kids filled with diggers, dozers, dump trucks and more!
