Storytime Theme: Big & Little

Concept storytime themes are some of the easiest lesson plans to pull together because there are so many amazing resources available to use! Today we’re focusing on opposites, and specifically big and little things which is a simple concept, but a great one to practice with young kids, especially toddlers and preschoolers.

This storytime is also a great introduction to a STEM program – big and little, measuring, and comparison are also basic math concepts for little ones. Adapt your regular storytime program to become a STEM program, our library calls our PreK Explorers and choose a few books, a song or two, and then include a couple of hands-on stations where kids can explore the opposites concept and you’re good to go!
