Top Ten Tuesday: Reading Goals I Still Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year

Looking back at my reading goals that I set back in January, I haven’t been reaching many of these goals. But, I’m still really happy with where I am in my reading goal. I’ve been reading more than I have been in the past few years and I’m just enjoying it a lot right now

Reading Goals I Still Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year

Keep Better Track of My Reading

I’ve been reading a lot on my Kindle which automatically adds to my Goodreads account, plus with my reading history added to both my library card and my Overdrive account. So, I’m doing really well with this goal (and probably one of the only goals I’m really doing well on!)

Try Some New Recipes from the Book Lover’s Cookbook

I haven’t had any time to try any of these recipes, but now that I’m looking at these goals, I’m going to pull out this cookbook and get some of these recipes on my list for the fall.

Try More YA Books

I always see so many beautiful YA covers and plots that really intrigue me, but I haven’t picked out many YA books to read this year, maybe I can add a few to my TBR this fall.

Read More Widely

COVID really changed my reading habits and I’m sucking up as many contemporary romance as I can, but that’s almost strictly what I’m reading right now. Maybe, I’ll try to push past my reading interests right now to try something new, but I’m also really happy right now with just being able to get some reading done.

Enjoying What I Read

I’m really good at stopping in the middle of books that I’m not enjoying and thankfully I’ve been enjoying all the books I’ve been reading lately!

I’m happy to say that I’ve been reading a lot more than I had been in the past few years! It doesn’t necessarily look like it did in the past, but I’m reading almost daily and that is great for me!

Read Picture Books Throughout the Year

I started working on this goal and I was doing well for a few months, but I kind of fell off the wagon as the year went on, so I’ll be starting to put holds on lots of great 2023 picture books to work on my gift guide scheduled to go out next month.

Read Books on My Bookshelf

I still have so many books on my bookshelf that I haven’t read yet. Once they get added to my bookshelf, it’s as if I forget them completely! I’ll have to try and pull at least one or two to try and read this fall.

Read Titles Suggested By Friends and Family

This is another goal I haven’t worked much on. Again, it’s been a few years of really weird reading for me, so I’m not too upset that this hasn’t happened yet because I’m reading more than I have been and that’s a success for me!

Try Reading with My Ears

As I mentioned in January, I have really found that I don’t like the feel of headphones, otherwise I’d most likely listen to audiobooks while walking the dog. But, I prefer to just be a little more present enjoying nature (and being safe while walking around traffic!).

top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
