Storytime Theme: Pizza
Pizza is probably one of my most favorite foods to eat! I love it! And I bet I’m not alone in that sentiment. I’m a huge fan of a classic cheese pizza. I think you can really tell a lot about a pizza place by how they make a plain cheese pizza. But I’m not opposed to toppings either and yes, if you’re wondering, I’m a pineapple-pizza eater, for sure. But, I love pineapple everything, so that shouldn’t be too surprising.
Today I wanted to share some fun pizza stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that you can do at home, at school, or in the library. A perfect weekend activity for the whole family would be to share one (or more) of these pizza stories and then make your own pizza! Make your own dough, buy store bought pizza dough, or even use a flatbread like naan to create your pizza. Make sure you get pizza sauce (a little different than pasta sauce), lots of cheese and all the toppings you want. Then make a BIG pizza to share as a family or create your own mini pizzas, so everyone can create their own special blend of toppings. A fun activity that brings the family together for dinner and involves all sorts of math, science, motor skills, and more! Let me know what your favorite pizza toppings are in the comments!
