It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/6/2021

What I Read

I finished up One Kid’s Trash by Jamie Sumner this week… and that’s about it! With extra nights at work and working on Saturday, my week filled up faster than I expected.

I’m also super excited because I joined a local rock gym (and have the blisters to prove it). I wanted to do something just for me that had nothing to do with work. So, I’m learning a lot about pushing myself, trusting myself, and falling, if I’m honest. It’s a completely different type of workout, but I love it because you can’t be in your head. You’ve got to focus on what your body is doing and little else. Plus, I love that feeling of accomplishment when I finish a problem, after a lot of hard work.

I also spent a good amount of time this past week looking at my blogging goals for 2022. And although my goals are still a little hazy, I’m focusing some of my time on planning posts and getting organized. I have a lot of great ideas and never feel like I have to work on them. I’m hoping that by planning now, I’ll be able to jump start 2022 with a fresh start! I’m already really excited with my plans, which I’m taking as a good sign.

What I’m Planning to Read

This is our last week of programming through the end of the year and my last Saturday of working (hopefully!), which should leave me a little more reading time before we head into 2022. This week my goal is to read Saint Ivy: Kind at All Costs by Laurie Morrison. And I’m still gathering up my courage to read the horror graphic novel – Volume 1 of Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft by Joe Hill. We’ve got a lot of new books in over the past month or so, and I’m hoping to grab a few more titles this week!
