2021 Holiday Kids’ Book Gift Guide

I love sharing books as gifts! Partially, because I love books and reading, but also because books can be extremely personal gifts. I regularly gift books to readers in my life. Last year, all of my friends received books from me – titles that I thought they would enjoy based on their interests and lifestyles. I don’t think that my nephew and niece ever see me without getting at least one book each. We don’t get to see each other that often and so, of course, I’m going to spoil them rotten with books!

What’s Inside

What started as a list of titles, soon morphed into something much bigger! Rather than creating a few book lists, which I honestly do on a weekly basis, I decided to do something more. I decided to go big or go home. This 32-page gift guide includes curated lists for six different age groups or formats:

  • board books
  • picture books
  • easy readers
  • chapter books
  • middle grade
  • young adult

With over 100 titles to choose from, there’s sure to be something for everyone on this year’s list. With a focus on diverse, fiction titles readers will find mysteries to solve, fantasies to dive into, science fiction to explore and so much more. Kids will discover characters they love, settings they won’t soon forget, and new favorite authors.

Each title includes the author (and illustrator), plus a quick little synopsis from the publisher. These little descriptions really help give gift-givers (and readers) a true sense of the story and where it’s headed. If you’re looking for more, you can check out more information about each book on Goodreads. Each title also includes two links, one to Bookshop.org and the other to Amazon. These are affiliate links and if you choose to purchase through either of these links, I will earn a small commission.

This gift guide includes titles that have all been published in 2021. With so many books being published every year, I like being able to share some of my favorites from the past year and authors that I admire. But, if you’re looking for more great suggestions, last year, for the holidays I created a few book lists for different age groups – board books and picture books, easy readers and chapter books, and middle grade novels as my first foray into creating a gift guide.

Whether you’re buying for all the kids on your list or are just looking for a great book to pick up during the holiday season for yourself, I hope you find something you’re looking for! Have a happy and safe holiday season!
