Storytime Theme: Pets

This week’s theme is pets! I’m sure most of my readers know all about my sweet and saucy little pup, Aria. She’s the most adorable dog out there and she can get herself into trouble quicker than I can get her out of it, usually. A quick story, we got her teeth cleaned this summer and it was an adventure. When we walked into the vet’s office, she’s throwing herself around and making all sorts of noises. The front desk staff asked how old she was and I responded, “Nine.” And they were gobsmacked! They were like, “9 years?!?!” Yep, that’s Aria, she’s nine years old and acts as crazy as a puppy.

This was a fun storytime! Some kids have pets at home, some wish they did, and some have imaginary pets! We celebrated all kinds of pets with this storytime. I absolutely LOVED reading Melissa’s Octopus and Other Unsuitable Pet – it’s so funny and works for kids with or without pets. Plus, the kids got to learn a new word – unsuitable.
