It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 6/21/2021

What I Read

Summer Reading officially starts today at my library! Which means it’s probably really great that I’ve read 4 out of 5 of our book discussion titles for our middle schoolers this summer. I can officially check off my list:

  • Jedi Academy by Jarrett Krosoczka
  • Flora and Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo
  • Never Caught, the Story of Ona Judge: George and Martha Washington’s Courageous Slave Who Dared to Run Away; Young Readers Edition by Ericka Armstrong Dunbar
  • Pay Attention, Carter Jones by Gary D. Schmidt

The only one I have yet to read is Show Me a Sign by Ann Clare LeZotte, but I read it as an ARC, so I just need to refresh my memory a little. Besides finishing up these titles, I also grabbed a few contemporary romance titles in YA and adult fiction to enjoy over the weekend – easy and fun to read! I read The Dating Plan by Sara Desai and Sunkissed by Kasie West. Plus, I also started Much Ado About You by Samantha Young.

What I’m Planning to Read

I’m still hoping to get to Glitter Gets Everywhere by Yvette Clark and The Shape of Thunder by Jasmine Warga, but with a really crazy work schedule this week and my parents coming into town for the weekend, we’ll see how much reading time I actually have!
