It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 5/10/2021

What I Read

Why can’t weekends just last a little longer? I had such great plans to read this weekend and it just didn’t happen! This week I finished All You Knead is Love by Tanya Guerrero – it was really great! If I wasn’t trying to eat a little healthier leading up to my sister’s wedding, I’d be in the kitchen making bread constantly!

I also read Wild Survival: Crocodile Rescue! by Melissa Cristina Márquez – this was a fast-paced story about a family that rescues wild animals and rehabilitates them. It was a really quick read and I loved learning more about the author’s background as a marine biologist! Plus, the animal tips sprinkled throughout the story were a great tool as well.

Last night, I grabbed my Kindle to see what I had and realized that I had downloaded Chris Baron’s newest book, The Magical Imperfect, and forgot I had it! So I just started reading it. It’s a novel in verse, so I’m hoping I can read it pretty quickly this week.

What I’m Planning to Read

I grabbed The Flight of the Puffin by Ann Braden the other day. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book since reading The Benefits of Being and Octopus. But, I’ve got two long work days this week and I’m driving out to my parents’ house for a quick weekend to help with some projects before the wedding. Here’s hoping I can find a good audiobook to keep me company and we’ll see how much reading I can get done!

Are you an audiobook fan? Any great middle grade suggestions for me?
