It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 10/12/2020

What I Read

This week I read three books, the first – Dear Universe by Florence Gonsalves is a YA contemporary fiction when all that matters is senior prom and graduation until it isn’t and how one girl manages her home life with finishing school. The second book I read is a middle grade biography called The Eagle Huntress: The True Story of the Girl Who Soared Beyond Expectation by Aisholpan Nurgaiv with Liz Welch about the first girl who competed and won The Eagle Festival in Mongolia. I loved learning about this young girl’s culture and heritage and her family’s history in eagle hunting. And finally, I read Jayla Jumps In by Joy Jones which is a perfect early middle grade reader about a young girl who learns about Double Dutch and what it means to be a leader.

What I’m Planning to Read

I’m in desperate need of an reading escape this week, so I’m hoping to read Quintessence by Jess Redman, Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron, and Izzy Newton and the S.M.A.R.T. Squad: Absolute Hero by Valerie Tripp. It’s a great mix of middle grade fantasy, STEM middle grade and a fractured young adult fairy tale.

What are you reading this week?
