It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 2/24/2020

Last Week

I’m continuing to love how well I’m keeping up with my TBR this year (and it’s already been 2 months!). This week I finished up No True Believers by Rabiah York Lumbard which was so good – social justice and thriller all in one! I’ll be doing a more in-depth review in the next few weeks. I also read From the Desk of Zoey Washington by Janae Marks which was a great middle grade book taking a closer look at again, social justice and incarceration. And I grabbed Black Brother, Black Brother, Jewell Parker Rhodes’s new novel. It’s about, surprise, social justice and fencing, friendship and family. Jewell Parker Rhodes has an amazingly deft hand when it comes to writing for a middle grade audience about tough topics while not talking down to them.

Reading List for Week of 2/24/2020

I have a conundrum… I’m heading to the Public Library Association Conference in Nashville on Tuesday. How many books do I take? I’m assuming I’ll be picking a few up at the conference (hopefully not 50). But, I’ll need at least one or two for my plane ride to Nashville and something the first day or so before I pick anything up.

Next up on my TBR list includes The Inside Battle by Melanie Sumrow and The Winter Duke by Claire Eliza Bartlett. Maybe I’ll grab the biography of Mister Rogers I got for my birthday in December – The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers by Maxwell King. That should be enough to get me started.

Do you have any great reading plans for this week?
