Vacation/Blogging Retreat Begins Now

About six weeks ago my aunt texted me a crazy proposition. She and my uncle are visiting one of my cousins for the week and were in need of a dog/house sitter as their usual one was unavailable. She offered to fly me down to Florida for a vacation and dogsit for them. And I mean, honestly, how do you pass up a week near the beach? So, I’ve packed my bags and I’m heading to the airport in a few hours to make my way down to Florida near Orlando (I’m so glad that Dorian skirted Florida last week)! My vacation/blogging retreat begins now!

And since I said yes and booked my trip, I decided to make it into my very own blogging retreat. My partner isn’t able to come down with me, so I’m going to take the chance to work on parts of my blog that I just haven’t had time to focus on. I usually take a vacation to spend time with my extended family or going somewhere to sightsee, but I rarely take a vacation to simply relax!

Week of Blogging & Relaxation

My week’s plan includes:

  • I purchased a blogging course online with great information, so I’m hoping to dive into some of those lessons,
    • If you’re interested in what I’m going to working though check out Ultimate Bundles, they’re having a Genius Blogger’s Toolkit sale October 2 – 7
  • I’ve got images I want to re-make for storytime lesson plans,
  • I have a few static pages that need to be re-worked and re-vamped to clean them up,
  • and then I’d love to try and get a jump start on writing some new posts.

Plus, I’d love to explore the town a little. You know, a little sightseeing, obviously spend some time on the beach. And maybe even get a chance to see some good friends! And, I agonized for about a week on how many books I should bring with me. I have a Kindle which really means I basically have unlimited books. But I also wanted to grab some physical books because it really is my preferred reading method. I think I ended up with 5-6 physical books and my Kindle, which should keep me busy for a few days.
