It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 9/9/19

Last Week

Although I didn’t necessarily read what I had planned, I did end up getting a lot of reading done. This week, I managed to read:

  • More to the Story by Hena Khan
  • The Friendship Lie by Rebecca Donnelly
  • Bernice Buttman, Model Citizen by Niki Lenz
  • Mighty Meg and the Magical Ring by Samy Griffin

Plus I managed to read a few other picture books and early chapter books that I had grabbed at ALA. My next goal is to start taking a look at some mock Newbery lists to make sure I haven’t missed anything major this year. I’m always excited to see what people’s opinions are about the books that might appear on the award list.

Reading List for Week of 9/9/19

I am so excited! I just need to get through Monday and Tuesday at work and then I’m heading to Florida for a week to help out my aunt by housesitting and dogsitting her pup while they’re away! I decided to turn my vacation week into my own personal blogging retreat in the hopes of spending some quality time reading, writing, researching and in general working on the parts of my blog I never seem to have time for.

With that said, I’m trying to figure out how many books I should bring in my suitcase and how many I can find through Netgalley and Overdrive. So far, I’m planning on bringing:

  • The Epic Crush by Genie Lo
  • Redwood and Ponytail by K. A. Holt
  • The Dark Lord Clementine by Sarah Jean Horowitz
  • Anya and the Dragon by Sofiya Pasternack
  • Hearts, Strings, and Other Breakable Things by Jacqueline Firkins
  • 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston
  • Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation by Stuart Gibbs
  • How to Raise a Reader by Pamela Paul and Maria Russo

What are your reading plans this week?
