Blogging From A to Z Challenge – Universal Stories

As I get closer and closer to the end of the alphabet it’s getting a little harder to figure out themes for some of the more difficult letters. For the Letter “U” I chose to highlight universal stories. In other words, titles that I didn’t get to add to other lists – books that are diverse and must-reads in my book!

Diverse Titles: Universal Stories
  1. Cilla Lee-Jenkins: Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan
  2. Finding Mighty by Sheela Chari
  3. Garvey’s Choice by Nikki Grimes
  4. Harlem Charade by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley
  5. Hope in the Holler by Lisa Lewis Tyre
  6. Insignificant Event in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling
  7. Macy McMillan and the Rainbow Goddess by Shari Green
  8. Save Me a Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan
  9. The Seventh Wish by Kate Messner
  10. Shouting at the Rain by Lynda Mullaly Hunt
  11. The Unsung Hero of Birdsong, USA by Brenda Woods
  12. The Vanderbeekers of 141 Street by Karina Yan Glaser

A to Z 10th Anniversay

I’m spending the month of April promoting diversity in children and young adult literature as part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. Stop by every day for a new list of titles! Also, check out other bloggers who are participating by heading over at the Blogging From A to Z website!
