Blogging From A to Z Challenge – Middle East

Can you believe we’re at Day 13? Halfway through the challenge. Today, I’m looking at what some might consider the same thing – the Middle East and Muslim characters But, I decided to make the distinction by creating two lists. The first is a little peek into books with characters who live in the Middle East, while the follow-up list will be characters who practice Islam living outside the Middle East (mainly here in America).

Like all the lists I’ve created so far, the Middle East is filled with a wide variety of cultures, religions, and traditions. These are just nine titles to get you started – make sure you take a look at other books these authors have written for even more great titles.

Diverse Titles - Middle East
  1. A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena
  2. Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi
  3. Escape from Aleppo by N. H. Senzai
  4. A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
  5. A Land of Permanent Goodbyes by Atia Abawi
  6. Playing Atari with Saddam Hussein by Jennifer Roy wiht Ali Fadhil
  7. The Turtle of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye
  8. If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan
  9. The Unwanted: Stories of the Syrian Refugees by Don Brown
