It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 2/10/19

Last Week

Last week was an amazing reading week for me! I read so many titles and loved all of them! The wee started off by finishing up The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – a beautiful and powerful story about the power of finding your voice. I can’t believe it took me this long to finally pick it up!

Plus, I read A Swirl of Ocean by Melissa Sarno – it won’t be published until August, but you’ll definitely want to pick it up before the end of the summer. It’s the perfect summer read – learning about who you are, where you came from, and what it means to be a family. After, I read Caterpillar Summer by Gillian McDunn, which will be published much sooner, in April. I loved this debut title, it’s a great story filled with three-dimensional characters, heartbreak, and hope all rolled into one. Check out my review from this past weekend.

I also picked up Where the Heart Is by Jo Knowles another story of a family in the midst of a hard time and what home means. And finally, I picked up There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon, a YA story about being fat, finding your voice, and standing up for what you believe in. I love how relatable Sandhya can make her her characters – I loved When Dimple Met Rishi and I was excited to dive back into the same world with her new title.

Reading List for Week of 2/10/19

I’m not exactly sure what my reading plans are for the week ahead. I know I’ve got a couple of books lying around the house that I definitely want to pick up:

  • The Collectors by Jacqueline West
  • The Next Great Paulie Fink by Ali Benjamin
  • The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo
  • On the Come Up by Angie Thomas
  • Books of a Feather by Kate Carlisle

What are your reading plans this week?
