It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/26/18

Last Week

It was such a busy week for me! For my family, Thanksgiving isn’t just a one-day event. It starts at dinner on Wednesday and lasts through Sunday. My family does not live close, so when we get the chance to get together, we spend a lot of time together. That being said, I got very little reading done this week because I was exhausted when I finally went to bed every night.

I did finish Betty Before X by Ilyasah Shabazz and Renée Watson. It was an interesting look into Malcolm X’s wife’s life as a young girl and a person I know very little about. X: A Novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon for a historical fiction view of a time period in American history. Plus, Ilyasah Shabazz is their daughter giving he particular insight into the family.

I then sped through On Borrowed Time a cozy mystery in the Library Lovers’ Mystery series by Jenn McKinlay. It’s just a really fun read as a librarian. Plus, I can usually speed through them in a few hours. I just checked and saw that there are a few more that I don’t think my library has yet, so that will keep me busy for a few more weeks!

Reading List for Week of 11/26/18

I’ve still got No Fixed Address by Susin Nielsen, The Boy From Tomorrow by Camille DeAngelis, A Problematic Paradox by Eliot Sappingfield, Small Spaces by Katherine Arden, and The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden by Karina Yan Glaser from the library. And not to mention, The Simple Art of Flying by Cory Leonardo, It Wasn’t Me by Dana Alison Levy, and Song for a Whale by Lynn Kelly through Netgalley. My hope this week is to get through at least two or three of these titles and get my butt in gear. There’s just so many books and so little time!

What are you reading this week?

I’m so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. I love a good cozy mystery series, so I will check this one out. I’m currently reading and enjoying REFLECTION-A Twisted Tale by Elizabeth Lim, a different spin on the MULAN story.
