#blogbookaday: Hungry Bunny

Hungry Bunny

Summary:

It’s fall, which means it’s the perfect time for mama’s apple pie. The only problem? These apples are hard to reach! But Bunny has some ideas. Young readers will delight in using the red ribbon to help Bunny reach new heights and pick those tasty apples. But the fun doesn’t end there! Readers will also rock the book back and forth and turn it round and round for a one-of-a-kind roller-coaster adventure on Bunny’s way home. Claudia Rueda shakes up the reading experience once again in this delightful sequel to Bunny Slopes. ” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review:

Bunny’s tummy is grumbling, but he needs the reader’s help to reach the apples on the tree so mama can make her delicious apple pie! With a little shaking, blowing and tilting Bunny’s got his apples and is heading home, but not before he needs a little more help from the reader!

Personal Reaction:

I love these types of books that allow the reader to manipulate the physical book to affect the story. This title is cool because it uses a ribbon bookmark as part of the story which I haven’t seen before in books like this. I think this allows for kids to understand how fun books can be, when they get the chance to shake, turn the book in circles and blow on the pages.

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
