Places to Go, People to Know: MG Book Village

MG Book Village

Who doesn’t love finding people that share the same passion as you? Well, if you love reading middle grade titles (books geared toward 8-12 year olds), then you’ve got to check out MG Book Village. Although it’s got a lot for teachers and librarians, parents and kids will find a lot to love on this webiste as well!

What is MG Book Village?

MG Book Village “a place for the Middle Grade community to connect, share, learn, discuss, inspire, embolden, comfort, assist, and do all the countless other things strong communities do for its members.” (https://mgbookvillage.org/)

What do they offer?

What I love about MG Book Village is that they do some absolutely amazing things across multiple platforms. They’ve got the Books Between podcast hosted by Corrina Allen with book suggestions and author interviews. A weekly Twitter chat (that I can never remember to attend!), I’ve really just got to put it in my calendar. And you can’t forget the MG at Heart Book Club featuring a new title each month. I don’t always get to the chats, but I’ve loved the books.

A place…to connect, share, learn, discuss, inspire, embolden, comfort, assist…

Plus, they’re continually adding content to their blog – book cover reveals and teacher insights. And if you haven’t checked out their book release calendar, then you’re missing out! The book release calendar gives you a fairly good idea of when new titles are expected to be published! It’s a one-stop-shop for this information as it can get tedious stopping by every publisher’s website to find this information.

The MG Book Village website is home to some absolutely amazing content. But, more importantly, is pulled together by an even more amazing group of people who are truly passionate about access to diverse books for all kids. Make sure to check out MG Book Village and follow the team on Twitter!

I’ve also created a list for Top Ten Tuesday of my favorite bookish websites, so don’t miss some of these other great resources!
