Toddler Storytime Theme: Fun Favorites

The kids were wired for storytime!  Because it was Election Day, the kids were out of school because some of the schools in the district act as polling places, so besides the Halloween candy, older siblings came to storytime as well and made it CRAZY!  But, the kids by and far loved reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? with me and they still love 5 Little Leaves and The Acorn Song… what can I say?  The Jbrary librarians are genius!  Personally, I liked all my choices this week and especially love the Lola books because the story portrays a diverse family and the story is not actually about diversity – just another family’s day-to-day life!

Early Literacy Tip: Does your child have difficulty sitting down with you to read a story?  Take time during meals, bath time and bedtime to show kids that reading can happen anytime, anywhere!  Or try reading while your child is playing, they may need to keep their hands busy, but they’re still listening!
