Storytime Theme: Clap, Tap, Drum

As I continue on my quest to update older storytime themes, I came across Clap, Tap, and Drum which I had done way, way back in 2013! If you’ve got an active group for your storytime class, you might want to try feeding into it, maybe a little counterintuitive, but I think you’ll have a more positive outcome if you do! And honestly, what little kid doesn’t love to move around a lot?

I tried to find a wide variety of interactive stories about rhythm and dance, movement and music. I think this would be a great lesson plan to use as an opportunity to expose kids to music they might not be familiar with, so I included a lot of great music resources for music from around the world.

I also included a few musical instrument crafting ideas, but also a coloring sheet if that’s just a little easier for you! It’s time to get into the rhythm and clap, tap, and drum your way into storytime!
