Storytime Theme: April Fool’s Day
This was a lot trickier than I had originally thought! For one, there aren’t a ton of April Fool’s Day picture books and some are now out of print. I included them on this list anyway because you may be able to find them in your local library. In terms of music, I chose some silly songs that I think kids are really going to find fun. And as for crafts, they’re what I would consider unexpected to go along with the April Fool’s Day theme.
In all honesty, I think this storytime theme might land more effectively with an older preschool audience of elementary school audience who can understand the nuances of jokes and wordplay a little better. But, who’s to say, you might find something that works perfectly for toddlers! Remember, the kids are going to feed off your energy, so if you’re not excited, they won’t be either!
