Storytime Theme: Brothers
Today’s theme holds a special place in my heart because I have two younger brothers of my own! And while we definitely didn’t always get along as kids, we are very close as adults! The stories about brothers are often about managing a new sibling or learning how to share or get along together, but they always end with love (and that’s something we could all use a little bit more of!).
I was surprised to see that many libraires have offered a storytime about families or siblings, but very few have specific storytimes about brothers. And I was happy not only to find picture books, but also a few songs too. And as for the crafts and extension activities, I chose really hands-on crafts that produce a result that I really think boys will love. So whether you’re penguins, jellyfish, or people, this is a perfect storytime celebrating the special bond of brotherhood!
