2025 Picture Book Gift Guide
Just in time for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, I’ve curated a list of 36 picture books that were published this year that will make the perfect gifts this holiday season! Books are some of the best gifts you can give loved ones because they are so personal for both you and your giftee. And if you’re thinking, well picture books are nice, but they’re for little ones. I can assure you that picture books are for absolutely everyone!
Process
After reading over 150 picture books this year, I’ve slimmed down the list to just 36 titles, could I have suggested closer to 75? Of course! But, I’m trying to make this as manageable as possible for you! Are these the best of the best picture books of 2025? I would argue maybe, maybe not. It’s the time of year when everyone comes out with the “Best of” lists and people flock to them because they want the best of whatever they’re interested in. These books might be some of my favorites this year, but that’s all they are, my favorites. My goal is that some of them resonate with you and that I can highlight some amazing authors and illustrators with you as well. So let’s get into it!

What’s Included
This list includes picture books for all ages. Some are absolutely hysterical, some will pull at your heartstrings and some will make you laugh out loud! There are picture books out there for everyone! My hope is that even if you don’t use this list to find gift ideas, maybe you grab the printable list and use it the next time you stop at the library to find brand-new 2025 picture books to share with your family.
And can we take a moment to talk about illustrations? Picture books have some of the most beautiful artwork in the world, and I’m serious about that. I think illustrators often get overlooked as “artists” because they’re artwork is in a more consumable product rather than hanging in a museum, but some of the artwork in these books just absolutely blew me away.
