Storytime Theme: Fire Safety
Fire Safety Week occurs each October and it’s important to make sure your kids have the information they need in case of an emergency. Things like how to dial 9-1-1, or what your address is, or your meeting spot outside the house in case of fire. And while you hope you’ll never be in any of these situations, it’s important for kids to be comfortable before an emergency occurs.
If you get the chance to have a real-life firefighter come to storytime, you’ll definitely have a great turn out. Plus, it gives little ones a chance to see a firefighter up close, which is sometimes a little scarier than they realize (especially with all the gear on). So, get ready to fight fire with these great picture books, songs, rhymes, and crafts! And maybe an extra special visitor with a really cool truck!
